aloha!
it's been too long since i've last posted... my apologies. laziness, exhausation, and lack of internet access are my (poor) excuses.
i can't believe that it has been nearly a month now on the island! time flys when you're working your ass off...
although i'm surrounded by ocean, mountains, rainforests, and rivers - it seems that i have no time to actual enjoy these natural wonders. my days start at 5:45 am and usually ends at around 5:30 pm. after that, its a beer or two, followed by night lunch, and then off to bed. we're fortunate enough to have sundays off - which usually means a late saturday night of card games with the Mexicans or dancing at the Tradewinds bar. Both = good times.
Last weekend I tried to rent a scooter so that I could take a personal tour of the island, but they were all booked-up. This weekend i'm hoping to rent a car/surfboard and hit the waves or possibly go on a boat tour of the Na Pali Coast. I've also befriended a few local dudes who want to take me hiking up some mountain... (jack kerouac style!)
Anyways, it appears i'll probably be here for another week or two (maybe longer) and then i'll be heading back to Winnipeg and saying good-bye to the Wellington Apartments. It'll be interesting being homeless for the next few months...
I missin' all my peeps back home and I hope I can make it our for a couple days to make a few memories this summer. But after that, i'll probably be heading out again to Minneapolis, Minnesota or Markham, Ontario. I've also been keeping in touch with the "geoscientists" over in BC, so i might hop over there to do a stint of work as well.
We'll see what happens.
Anyways... I'm buying a camera in the next day or two, so check back soon for photos gallore.
I promise i'll try and keep this thang updated.
