i have to say... working in the construction industry for the past few months has introduced me to quite a few people that i'd never imagined i'd meet...
for instance, one of the current foremen here (we'll call him "Wayne") is from Mississippi.
Wayne is about 60 years old and has been in the business of erecting buildings for quite some time... in the past, however, he's spent several years in prison, fought in "the shit" during Vietnam, fathered seven children with five wives, and killed a man in Houston (with his bare hands).
Wayne calls me "young blood"
he's a funny old man
he's also a racist
he loves the blues
and the saints
Wayne always told me:
"you do good work around here,"
"just not enough of it."
he drives a charger
